Drawing with Light: Cyanotype and an Introduction: What Is Photography?

Experiment

We experiment with one of the oldest cameraless photographic processes: cyanotype, also known as blueprinting. This fine art printing technique was developed in the 19th century and allows for an exciting interplay of light and shadow. Using a wide variety of materials and plants, we create intriguing image compositions, which we arrange on light-sensitive paper. At the latest when the paper is washed with water, the magical process becomes visible. The result is beautiful blue works of art!
