With Prof. Dr. Monika Ankele, medical historian and curator, director of the Berlin Museum of Medical History at the Charité

We invite you to join a guided exhibition tour with experts who share their perspectives on the exhibition with us. This time featuring: Prof. Dr. Monika Ankele.

Prof. Dr. Monika Ankele is Professor of the History of Medicine and Medical Museology, curator, and museum director. Her areas of focus include art and psychiatry, patient history, and the material cultures of medicine. Her current exhibition, "Horizontal. The Sickbed and the World Lying Down", explores how perception and one's relationship to the world change when the bed becomes the center of life. Historical objects and archival materials, artistic works, activist positions, and the voices of those affected enter into a dialogue that spans from the 19th century to the present.
