On 5 December 2025 at 6 p.m., FOTO ARSENAL WIEN, together with the Leica Gallery Vienna, invites you to a conversation with renowned photographer Barbara Klemm.
The talk takes place on the occasion of the exhibition “In Dialogue: A Photographic Conversation between Barbara Klemm & Lena Mucha”, which will be on view at the Leica Gallery Vienna from 5 December 2025 to 7 February 2026.
Barbara Klemm (born 1939) has shaped female photojournalism in the German-speaking world for decades. Beginning in the 1960s, she was one of the few women to work continuously as a photographer, primarily for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, travelling throughout both West and East Germany. Images of the then head of state of the Soviet Union, Leonid Brezhnev, embracing the GDR chairman of the State Council, Erich Honecker, became icons of photographic history and part of the collective memory.
