We invite you to a joint tour of the exhibition with Sylvia Köchl, author of the book 'Delikt Abtreibung. Frauenarmut, ungewollte Schwangerschaften und illegale Abbrüche', published by Mandelbaum Verlag in 2024. In her book, Sylvia Köchl uses 49 court cases that took place in Vienna between 1923 and 1974 and are exemplary for the entire German-speaking world to explain the reality for women in the 20th century who could not afford medical abortions.
Through dialog, we create a link between research and case histories from Austria and Laia Abril's work On Abortion. With the political scientist and journalist, we draw parallels to works in the exhibition that illustrate that women still experience similar situations in some countries today.
